i get the following error when i try to open the mangosd.exe
"this application had failed to start because MSVCR71.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." i have followed the guide but i still wont work

If only all wotlk server guides were this easy, most guides i look at dont just give the repack and simple instructions but make you do alot more than neccesary, like make a paragraph on something small like downloading the files.

Yah, exactly. There's like 7 Guides on AC-Web about setting up a WotLK Beta Server, but none of them actually show you how... Sooo annoying

I can't get Navicat to connect to my MySQL server... What should I make the connection properties to connect to it? (when creating the MySQL server I did the standard configuration)

Tested it with the newest wotlk patch and patch 8634 (8634 is the Supported build from the repack)

Didnt tested it without patch, because the installation time is too long at my current pc ^.^

to solve this problem u need to reinstal wotlk beta client and patch it once to 3.0.1 8634 because that the only version that this relase supports:wave:

Okay I've gotten past my first problem, turns out I was a n00b and downloaded Navicat 8 Lite PostgreSQL instead of Navicat 8 Lite MySQL. It works fine with XP, except for on the Death Knight starting area, only one of the teleporters works so you can get to the 2nd and 3rd stories, but can't get to the first story of the building or ground level without .tele which then scews the beginning quests because you end up teleporting to the real EPL instead of the DK start EPL. The second problem I'm having is attempting to work this all on a Vista machine. I got it all sorted out with Navicat and the batches etc, however when I put the Ad file into my WoTLK folder it performs the task, but when complete, I find no DB or Map folders, can anybody help me on this? Thanks in advance once more.

I have found the solution to the whole "won't create the DB and Maps folder in the WoTLK Beta folder using Vista", of course I have potentially outn00bed my first mistake, right click Ad and Run as Administrator. Once it's done I'll see if the portals in DK starting area are still skewed. This just goes to show that us Mac users running a Vista partition with Bootcamp CAN learn Microsoft basic functions...just takes us a bit longer is all. *shakes fist in triumph and cheers*
