When I place the .exe into the patcher it says its writing the binaries, where are they exactly?

Every time I drag and drop the file onto the connection patcher it instantly crashes giving me this.

It creates the WowB_patched.exe but I still can't login even when my config.wtf is set and the sandbox is open.

Edit, manually added 127.0.0.1 arctium.logon.battle.net to my hosts file and it's working now.

So really big noob question. How do I get this setup to run on localhost? I assume I need some sort of server emulator or something?

You're on localhost by default AFAIK, Localhost = your computer and everyone that is connected to you over the local area network. You don't need to change anything, just log in with the given account details and the portal to the server set up in the config. Think he added the localhost part to the readme just so people don't waste time trying to log onto someone else's servers.

This is what happens if you don't read the "readme.txt" file that King supplied. Make sure "Connection Patcher.exe" is being set as: Run as Administrator ...and then it will work.

To fix the crash you should disable any kind of anti-virus program.

I can't connect to the realm. I didn't have a config.wtf file in my WTF folder, so copied one from retail and deleted everything. After that I inserted set portal "arctium" and saved, but I can't connect. It's error 114.

Even when running as admin most anti viruses block accesses to the binaries. Disable you anti virus while you patch then re-enable. Worked for me.
