[Lua Engine] Eluna Lua Engine for TrinityCore

Hello everyone, figured I'd make a thread about this on OwnedCore as well, and hopefully some of you will enjoy this just as much as tons of us already do

Eluna is a 3rd party Lua engine for Trinitycore created originally by me and Neglected/Sympathy 2 years ago. We quit during our early stages due to real life and being burnt out in general, but lately I, QQRofl and Rochet has picked it back up, and we're now at the point of an open release

Currently we're still in alpha, however we have several hundred methods and a huge amount of hooks working. I'd love to get more feedback and more users of our engine, as we really feel this is going to make a great emulator even better.

Eluna will at the moment be provided with the latest stable Trinity source, and will be updated regularly. Later on we will make it a patch you can apply to any Trinity source.

Please, head over to our Wiki for more information on methods and hooks.

    Sincerely,
    The Eluna Team.

When I try to use CMake on this it tells me that I don't have Git installed on my computer, which I do, and I added the path to the registery also, but it makes no difference... Ideas?

Very big respect to say the least, this has been in demand for so long. I haven't tested personally (taking a break from modding). But thank you for this, I've always seen LUA as a gateway to learning C++ (or at least in my case), the fact that Trinity dominates the 3.3.5 world without this gateway is a limit on the future learning experience of potential scripters who hit difficulty walls set by C++. But this is a big step forward, so for that, thank you.

Working on compiling it all now, testing some Lua scripts, etc. +Rep and thank you for releasing this. I agree with XxXGenesisXxX, Lua has always been a great way to develop before getting into C++ as well as it being fun and exciting to utilize within the core.

Good work, I am having some trouble compiling it though. It is a bit different than fresh trinity core.

If you can help me out via Skype, I will write a informative guide and you can go ahead and post it up, in exchange for the help. I am still brushing up back to the old days when I would compile servers. I am a little rusty and the technology is updated

Appreciate the help, +rep if you can Skype. I sent details to your Inbox

Figured I'd give this a bump! Eluna has gone through massive development the last couple months, and now supports way more methods and functions compared to the original release earlier this year. We have changed our Wiki location since then as well, it can now be found here: eluna []

That being said, we're looking for people to help us out with documentation. There's so much to do and so many changes that we need someone dedicated to help out with getting everything up to date and added.

Thank you all for your continued support!
