If you want to make sure you have the right files, and want it to run each time you setup a new world, then make sure you have all theese programs installed

Finally, please ensure that your computer is up-to-date.

They will install the right files at the right places on your comp. People who compile their stuff themself, have theese programs on their comp. Thats why some just download them and make it work the first time, because they have it on their comp already.

Thanks! OpenSSL did the trick. Question though.. I got my server up and running, but it doesn't let my characters move server side. It's weird, but I'll explain..

I put the server online over hamachi (I like to run it on my PC, play it on my laptop) and tried to teleport to stormwind. Didn't see any NPCs load, and no commands (NPC add for example) had any effect I could see. So I logged off, logged back on and boom. NPCs loaded this time, but the NPC I spawned spawned at the human starting point, as if I didn't move.

So I logged two characters on. One on the computer running the server, the other on my laptop. They could talk to each other, but neither could see each other move. I gave myself an item, tried equipping it and it stays greyed out, like the server isn't getting the message.

Any ideas what's going wrong, or is this normal on Cataclysm servers now?

Edit: One more question. This repack seems to be missing a bunch of DLC files, after watching the world load. Could I paste the dlc from an older repack into this one to get some more features?

the core is compiled on windows xp 32-bit on visual C++ 2010 for info..

i tested the repack and i don't have any errors, but you can try downloading the latest windows updates and downloading Microsoft Visual C++ and .Net Framework.

I downloaded OpenSSL from here
Download Complete package, except sources setup
and
Sources setup
run and install

 http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net/packages/openssl.htm

and

Microsoft Visual Studios 2008 and that fixed the problem for me.
After download and install you must reboot your computer.
