Salamanda's Repack

Hello, and welcome to my first repack. I've been excited over this release as one of my goals in WoW emulation was to release a repack. Well now I am about to achieve that goal. I've spent a few months learning basic C++ and how to compile etc, and now I have put together a masterpiece!

This is for 2.4.x by the way.

The server is the most stable version of ArcEmu I could find (rev 1120 or something) pvp based.

You start of in a weird, dream like temple, wearing T2 of your class, and a awesome weapon. Here it is a sanctuary, (I edited the dbc's) and so no PvP of any kind can take place (like shattrath) even if horde and alliance are right next to each other. There are different sound effects all around this zone, to suit the area, with stunning visuals, and a awesome story line. In the centre of the room, is a npc, that you can use to quickly access different areas, for example, weapon vendors, or class skills. You can obtain a quest, to unluck a item that allows you to access the Pro vendors, that are in a hidden area where you actually need the item to access (required in worldmap_info).
All the rewards and quests, you need to do warsong gulch or arathi basin to get. The battleground people can be found in the starting area. If you go through the huge green portal, you will access outside the temple, a weird dreamy place with invisible walls stopping you from falling off. Readme has a detailed guide on what you need to configure etc to get this to work. You will need to get a database.

Use search to find out how to get a sql database. (world and logon are only included)

The server I transfered into a executable rar as it's quite big. No it's not a virus and it's on filefront.com. Seriously, 1: I don't know how to make decent viruses and 2: Why would I do that when i'm trying to contribute?

I expect it's a problem in the configs, i'll go have a little lookup on what can cause it

When you try to access yourdomain.net, your PC asks your ISP's DNS server for the IP of the domain. The DNS replies with your external IP, causing what is known as realm loop.
Enter the hosts file. The hosts file bypasses DNS requests on domains you add to it. Your PC will first check the hosts file for the domain you're trying to reach, and only then will it try querying the DNS.
How does the hosts file work? Simple. Once you've grasped the concept, it becomes clear. Each line on your hosts file (which isn't a comment denoted by a '#') represents one "redirection".

This tells the PC, "Whenever you look for the domain localhost, don't ask the DNS, it's at 127.0.0.1".

So how would we use it for our advantage?
Simple. Since the DNS replies with our external IP, we want to bind our domain to 127.0.0.1, like so:

And Vista runs emulators just fine.

Somone with the same problem posted, and thats what TheSpidey said and the guy with the problem was fixed because of that... See if it works for you (talking about hosts folder)

You need an sql database, I might include one in future updates, but for now you only have the structure and data.

Go to http://www.mmowned.com/forums/emulator-server-guides/145944-how-make-arcemu-2-4-3-server-pictures-included.html and read the first post. You will only need to download the MYSQL one.
Once you've downloaded follow the instructions to install it, then at the end instead of inserting his databases, insert the ones included in my repack.

my world.sql is giving an error when im trying to batch it with Navicat? it says the following:
[Err] 1146 - Table 'mysql.time_zone_name' doesn't exist
[Err] /*!40103 SET TIME_ZONE='+00:00' */;

any solutions?
