Why Linux?
I have hosted servers on both Windows and Linux and noticed a huge increase in performance while running on Linux. Servers start faster, run smoother, and crash less. They're harder to use but the hardest part is just getting them compiled, and i've done that for you. You will need to get the screen program to run both the logon server and world server on the same box, but thats not a problem. If you are using Ubuntu or Debian just type sudo apt-get install screen and there you go. You can find more information here about getting the server started. If you are running a GUI this isn't necessary.

"Just so everyone knows, at this time the 2.4.3 DBCs do not work with any of the above revs. The ArcEmu SVN has been messed with so the current rev doesn't compile. Once they fix the problem, I will release the newest rev."

i use gentoo and thanks man i spent for ever and a day trying to get this to work. as in this i meen compiling. but the file that you gave was amazing thanks you just saved me from a headache

Mostly: What do i do with the db? I have mySQL installed on Kubuntu - I do also already have a DB to compare against on my desktop - can i copy the structure, and paste in the db supplied here?
