An alternative method to do this (I find it quicker) is

Start
Run
Type in "Cmd" without the "
Press Enter
Wait until the screen stops loading info and type "ipconfig /release" without the "
It will write some stuff down, when it stops type "ipconfig /renew" without the "

This resets your IP and has saved me many a time

Most in-game bans are IP bans, most ones that are reported via forum etc. are account bans
