What is the big difference between Ascent/Antrix and MaNGOS?

I use MaNGOS because I find the commands to be more blizzlike, and .lookup item, object, spell, creature is the most useful thing imo

The difference is that Ascent can support a lot more players, its very fast updating and dunno...i like it more than MaNGOS

yeah I knew about look up item...
but you can look up whole game objects (IE: I want to spawn a moonwell, .lookup o Moonwell)

Only problem with that is I tried both an ascent and a mangos repack, the ascent repack was more buggy, lol

I prefer MaNGOS..ascent is way to buggy for me.

MaNGOS:

Can now hold over 1500 people
Collision detection
vmaps
Better database (UDB)
More friendly staff
Just overall, imo better

Ascent:
Annoying staff
Ego freaks :|
Okay database
Went underground like 3 times because burlex is annoying
Moon++ dropped I believe

PS: MaNGOS and ascent repacks suck

AlphaWoW - News holds 1200-1300 with about 300 latency for me.
MaNGOS has been better since rev 4000+ (They at 5361 i think)

moon++ is not dropped... and about the question:
people just like ascent more becuz it has a more stable core and support more players...NCDB is the leet database too...
anyhow mangos sucked hard time before... it is getting better but still i prefer ascent ^^

There really isn't any other ascent DBs. If you compare a mangos DB to it, it really does suck.

1.almost 98% scripted/easy to script
2.REALLLLYYYY stable
3.all spells work
4.colision detect npc dont run through wallz
5.vmaps
6.its a learing tool lolz
