I just downloaded the "MaNGOS v2.0.12 Server [COMPLETE]" torrent found at The Pirate Bay and followed all steps pointed out there.
I'm using Xampp as Apache & MySQL server.
Every time I start realmd.exe I get a glimpse of a command prompt and then the log appears saying

2007-05-23 22:46:16 ERROR:Cannot connect to database

I am not using any password on my root account, how come I can't connect?

EDIT: mangosd.exe displays the same error in its log

I did not see one question in that whole wall of capital text, all i saw was orders and commands. Try some manners and not yelling at people then maybe you will get some help.

Its more difficult than it looks with hamachi,first your friends need the realmlist file with your hamachi ip,than set up a network,choose a name and a password.
Than go into Navicat and set the ip to your Hamachi one,than go back to Hamachi and Preferences,go to Window and mark all Confirmation things
and Default Network member label, Hamachi network address.Than to Presence, and there mark all of the stuff,than tell your friends they shall connect to your network,if its okay their ip shall be green in your hamachi,if it doesnt you should check if your friends maybe have a bad connection speed.
Than they shall connect top your server,it worked at me look:

I got my MaNGOS server up and running, testing with some friends...
One small problem... the creatures are not attacking!
Aggro range is set to 1 (default) in mangosd.conf, I don't see where the problem can be?

Version 4.0 had a problem the spell animation didn't work so i downloaded the version 4.1.1 and then version 4.2(this one had the fix for the spells) now the gm island is empty there are no vendors no portal making npc even the chairs are gone.Do you know a fix or a patch for this problem???(or maybe i haven't done something when i replaced the original server files)

the xephers shadow repack guide is working fine but when i load mount and i dismount my character freezes can u help me? and i cant wear ammo to ammo slot.and when i use stealth or any druid forms my character will freeze
