Just trying a new guide too get server up and I was rein-stalling MySQL (had all ports open before and firewall turned off) then once I went too try this new guide i deleted Mysql, SQLyog ports (i had ports set to TCP) and guide told me to set to TCP-UDP so I did that and tried to connect to mysql again and it gave the following error (then deleted all tcp-udp ports and then added back port 3306 TCP and turned firewall off )

The security settings could not be applied to the database because the connection has failed with the following error.
Error No. 1045
Accsess denied for user 'root'@localhost (using password: YES
If a personal firewall is running on your machine, please make sure you have opened TCP port 3306 for connections... blah blah blah...

Really stuck can sum1 plz help..

I'm going to make a guide on how to FULLY uninstall MySQL. gimme a sec

Do the regular uninstall, then go into your programs folder and delete the MYSQL folder, then reinstall.
