Area Name Change

Hey all, I can't find a post on this and so I'd like to ask it here. =x

My friend is working on a custom Northrend area, which is gonna be placed outside of Naxx (No better spot we could think of...)

I was wondering if anyone knows how we could get it to say Northrend in the middle whenever you enter the zone instead of Naxxramus.

He says that it might be in areatables.dbc but he's not sure.

If this is right, then sometimes when he modifys this, the server won't load?

Any help with this is HIGHLY appreciated!!!

You can't change the big text over head, not without editing .dbc files, and i wouldn't mess with that, however, in your DB you can change the text in your Chat log like instead of it saying something like "Welcome to naxx" It would be "Welcome to Northrend" Something like that, just edit your Area trggers i believe it is in DB

Actually you can , but that will be beyond Modifications, which becomes a little mess and trials and errors till you get it...but its client sided

Yeah, he got the Welcome to Northrend in chat. Suprising it would be that difficult. =( It seems to me that it would be a quick and simple change of Naxxramus to Northrend. xD

A easy workaround would be having a raid warning with "Northrend" pop up when they enter the zone. Should be simple scripting.

Just add the script to the area trigger. If it is popping up before they zone or while they are zoning, add a wait of like 15secs into the script.

1. open navicat/heidiSQL or whatever it is
2. go to the worldmap_info table
3. search for naxxramas
4. change the name to Northrend
5. done
