    Most "Blizzlike" Database?

    Hello all,

I recently created an Ascent server, got it running, and made it public. I've been using NCDB 0.2, and it's not too bad, but things like none of the mobs having random waypoints (I.E. just standing in one spot all the time), broken quests (mainly attunements), and other minor things really detract from the quality of the experience on the server.

That's why I came here to ask: what is currently the most Blizzlike database? I'm aware none are perfect, but I'm curious to see others' opinions on which DB is the closest to perfection.

Anybody at all? I can understand that most of you might be funserver lovers, but surely someone has some experience with this...

your using the most blizz like server Database out there

unless you switch to mangos and use the UDB that is set up for it. but both have the same pretty much

as for your "broken" things. its a emu, expect it, to fix minor things like that you will have to fix that yourself, because that datas pretty much part of the core emu itself with 90% of quests and pathing

Oh... well, that's rather depressing, since I don't know an ounce of C++ and therefore can't tailor Ascent to my needs, and obviously manually creating random waypoints for every creature on the map isn't feasible...

download one of the latest ascent core revs and update to NCDB 0.2.2 and you will probably have a lot better random waypoint stuff

not really, so far 90% of the standing still mobs are still standing still in most of the repacks out there. I dont think many groups outside of the UDB and NCDB crews are doing anyhting about the waypoints and roaming.

i spent about 6 hours attempting to fix just a small zone for the NPCs, its a total pain.

but yeah i am still looking, and the best to date i have seen for corrections on that is the NCDB, but from version 2 to 2.2 i didn't see any updates for the pathing of standing mobs.

am still looking at the UDB site to see what they have coming.

right now i am working on a few of the waypoint movement on a few quest npcs. unfortuanly 90% have to be done with GM scripts... and those soon to not be supported

well as long as that part goes thru i will be puling that DB for use then and adding mods from there!!!

now i can stop making my waypoints with GM scripts...

hopefully they are adding the waypoints for some of the quests that use waypoints and area triggers

You could also try use Ac-Web repacks, they are quite good

the AC 7.1 repack uses the NCDB 0.2 database

NCDB 2.1 and 2.2 were released after the 7.1 ac repack but that is the database used
