The problem that i had was the thing say in colum one has a language forcer in the account... then i went to the older version and it works it didnt say that.. but they didnt say that thing. i went back to the 2016 and that is laggy like real bad.. like i go into BT and it keep freezing up and it was hard to do anything in there even to fight illidan

Well, today I decided to start from scratch. I delete all copies of the database and ascent from the server (er.. pc im using as a server).

I installed NCDB 0.2.1 w/o issue.

I installed a pre-compiled version of the 2228. as soon as I launch (after updating the .conf files) it immediatly crashes with the nice little "ascent.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."..

Same think on pretty much any of the 2xxx versions. I am attempting to compile 2016 (I think.. i forget now) but well see whats going on there.


My question - Any suggestions on a fix for the immediate crashes? (I am about to start building a Linux server - perhaps its more stable for me on that platform?)

really damn frustrating. I can only seem to run 17xx or 18xx. (And on 2 different computers - one XP w/SP2, the other is vista.

did you guys also delete these lines in your ascent config file...?

I'm getting the same issue where ascent.exe crashes immediately. Unable to debug. The "die msg"s were removed from my config files, and other settings match mysql server.

Here are the exact steps I did so maybe you can help me.
1) downloaded AscentNCDB022.rar and executed the batch over a blank database file
2) downloaded the character.rar, attempted to install, but installation failed, wrote down tables that were causing the failure : accounts, bannedplayers, arenateams, auctions, etc.) deleted the tables, then reinstalled character.sql , successfully
3) went to the original post and applied all of the additions using the sql console (in navicat)
4) downloaded ascent 2267, modified the host, name, password, and database fields to match in the logon and ascent config files, also deleted the two die messages in the ascent config file.
5) started logon server, successfully
6) ascent.exe crashes immediately, unable to debug.
I then tried this with the earlier builds working my way down to 2016, modifiying the config files of each, and all of these shared the problem of the ascent.exe file crashing immediately.

Please let me know if you have any troubleshooting or fix ideas. Thanks in advance for the help

did you delete de die directive lines?
post your config files...

I deleted the die directives. Here are the config files for the 2267 build, after I have edited them for my mysql server, with the connection named "ascent" database named "ascent" login name "root" password "root"
