my best idea would be for u to make ur server public so they can get in too, otherwise they gotta roll their chairs over to u and watch over your shoulder, which sux for them, and since u'd be only one online, sux for u too.
erm..k....well whatever i have to do to be able to create everyone an account and have their chars already done so we can play immediatly
u can do that ingame thru navicat or follow someone's guide to setting up a registration webpage.
i appreciate the comments mr. bl00d elf dr00d...? but im looking for an ideal solution for a LAN...which may not nessesarily have internet connection. It was my impression (but am prolly wrong) that mangos just boomerangs server requests with some scripts and SQL to handle what would normally be sent to the game servers...so ideally, what i would want is a simple as possible way such as people would only need the wow client and to repoint their IP or something....see what i mean? lemme know
Just change the IP in the realm thingy to your LAN ip...
FOR A MOMENT, NOTHING HAPPENED. THEN, AFTER A SECOND OR SO, NOTHING CONTINUED TO HAPPEN.
Rebumping post, rather than rethreading....still looking for advice to manage a server for a LAN set up!
Getting people to connect w/o making it public is simply impossible unless they all have computers in your house and you play from there...
+rep is a better way to thank some one.
xxtennisdudexx: erm, u do know manGOS is VERY buggy compared to antrix.
mesmoras: It may be buggy but it's so easy, even a caveman can do it. lol
rebumbing again, and btw mesmoras, the idea im going for is everyone who needs to connect will be in the same room/switch.
It's simple, really. Have them all set their realmlists to your INTERNAL IP, that is if you're all on the same network, and it will work. Hope this helps.
