O.k I'm very confused on what is what
o.k i think Antrix (plus Mangos and w/e) is the main database and people make repacks or Sql bundles?? for it to keep it updated because i got my database from the "ANTRIX" file in the pack i downloaded in Xephrs guide on the Antrix 2.1.1-2.1.x guider

so im really confuzed if im right or wrong i would a appreciate if comeone could just explain this to me in a very detaled way and explain what everything this is (i mean just like database repack or w/e)

and tell me what i need to do to keep my server up to date with the newest mobs and items i could get using antrix and btw i dont need any information on anything else except what stuff means and what i use to excute please dont give me all kind of other information or files that just confuze me

If you want to keep the bugs updated, you need bins. Bins are the .exe files, to start up the server. To really keep it updated, you'll need to download Ascent from their SVN, and compile it yourself.
If you want to keep items, NPCs, and vendors and such updated, you need to have a up to date DB. The DB are the .sql files, imported into MYSQL.

oh! And, Repacks are everything in one. (Which the Ascent devs do not like)


Also, I say "Ascent", as thats the real name of Antrix now. Antrix was their old name, but now they are named Ascent.
If your server files refer to Antrix, your bins are over 400 updates old!

ok thanks but how about repacks cant i just get them instead of a whole new database and what is ascent

Repacks include everything you need, and what you need is basicly:
Maps,
DBC,
Bins,
and a Database.

Ascent is the NEW, and UPDATED "Antrix". There is no such thing as Antrix anymore...

well ok but i still am runing an antrix server that i downloaded from xephers antrix guide a while ago how can i make it more up to date and get ascent or whatever

Get Microsoft Visual Studio 2003.
Get tortoise SVN.
Go to svn://emupedia.com/svn/ascent
Download it.
Go to the folder, and find the 70vk or something.
Open it. Select configuration manager, somewhere.
Select build.
Then, find the build solution button.
Wait till its done. And find your bins.
