GreenCore Development: Let's Get The MoP In

Hey guys, its been years since I have been on "MMowned" or, "Ownedcore" as we now call it. I even typed "MMowned" to get to the website, If that doesn't give anyone an idea on how long it has been since I have been back hehe xD. It has been a mighty long ride for all of us here in the emulation and development community. It has come a long way so far and I would like to help give it a boost. Sad to say I have been out of the loop for a few years, but life has it's trials & tribulations. The good news is none of you probably remember me anyway, so the fact that I am here now to contribute to development will probably not tickle anyone's fancy.

My wife and I are developers and we want to back a good programming community for wow emulation. I joined MMowned back when I was a little hellion, so I would like to stay old school and stick with the people I know. Errage is a good friend of mine, I am sure lots of you know it.. Him... Her, She? Idk anymore lol. I used to work a little bit with GroundZero back in the day before he became Moderator. I don't talk to him anymore, but "What's Up!? It's been a few years, mate." If you read this haha.

Anyway, back to the reasoning behind why I am making this post. We want to help flourish the MoP Project and start running a clean 5.1.0 Emulation Project. On our end, we basically want a family server for us to use, but we are programmers so, we might as well move progress along, right? Plus, my wife wants to get into Lua Scripting, hardcore, as well as grinding into MySQL for the next couple months, while I do core work in C++ (ARGH!!) /brainache

GreenTrees Fix: Make sure you applied the patcher to your client executable (WoW.Exe) and then edit the accounts table in your MySQL database to be "yourusername@admin" without quotes.

I think most people went down the route of patching the WoW.exe to remove this protocol.

Other than that, I do not know. Strawberry emulator had got pretty far last time I checked.

    It works just fine,

We are in the process of doing core coding, and with our set-up we are prepared to do some custom model edits as well. We are also looking for other developers to join in with the idea and help out if interested. I want to get a good launcher platform going as well, just because it is always fun to work with Visual Studio.

Thanks OwnedCore for still staying alive,

Thanks, I hope to get a lot of help from the community and share my findings with everyone. When I have time to make guides and updates, I will. I also plan to be donating to the forums some time, but I want to build up some posts first.

    Thanks for reading,

I currently have the MoP SandBox console configs hooked up to MySQL properly. I did add an account there myself in the database with a standard username not containing the AtMark (@). Still get the same message.

So, in order to get functionality between email accounts, I would need to write those scripts myself. Understood.
What about normal account names such as: Sasha, Wizo, Errage, etc

Any direction on why it still tries to use the Protocol 2 instead of GRUNT, or am I missing something all entirely here.

    Thanks,
    GreenTrees

I've not really researched the newer clients. They could have changed it to only use Battle.net 2 now, or have some other port having a constant connection to Battle.net in use (1107 I believe from memory). All servers I've seen want you to patch your client so I am assuming this is the case. More info on Battle.net 2: http://darkblizz.org/wiki/doku.php?id=bnet2_protcol Again, realmlistbn is hardcoded into the client so you must get it to use realmlist (GRUNT) or emulate a new logonserver.

Thanks, I will see what I cant find out from there. I appreciate your contribution

Update: I just patched my client up and changed some tables in MySQL and it worked out fine

I am actually in the SandBox 5.1.0 server right now. It is running somewhat smoothly, I have created a character and enterered the world. No NPC's as of yet. It seems the issue here was, if I put normal character names "Sasha, Wizo, Greentrees" in the database nothing worked.

However, if I use the following in MySQL

    ID: 1
    Name: username@admin
    Password: password
    SessionKey: 0
    SecurityFlags: 0
    Expansion: 4
    I.P: 127.0.0.1
    Language: enUS
    online: b'0

    It works just fine,

Now, I am going to see what I cant do about getting these databases installed into the server, get some command lines going, some good model edits. I am paying for a WoW subscription right now to keep updates on Retail. Who is up for making Mist of Pandaria a playable Emulator in the next few weeks to a couple months?
    Thanks for the help guys!

arctium doesn't use tthe battle.net protocol.
but since 5.1.0 the wow client always says he want a battle.nt accound name.
To work with the grunt protocol I just patched one byte in the client.

Oh and: You talk about c++ programming, but the screenshot says its c# with arctium as base

We are using C# and C++ mate. I am not only using the Actium core, I am compiling databases and source code from a few selected cores all the way back from BC to present so that we can get the most content possible. Sources from ArcEmu, Trinity, WhyDB, our own custom Database's, etc. Instead of criticizing, if you know your stuff why not join the team and contribute? Since the release of this core is probably going to be a huge breakthrough in the MoP community, just as the sandbox is now.

    Thanks,
    GreenTrees

Are you saying that you programmed the Actium SandBox which Craigy and the others are using? If so where are your sources, otherwise I am sticking to the greencore project. If you have further development we might join on the team, because honestly, the whole "goal" here is to just have a stable core. Or, you might think about contributing instead of joining the team, just because of the mere fact that we are all developers here trying to help one another? I am not sure what your method of think is, or what your intentions are here mate

    Thanks,
    GreenTrees

Since there are spawns, etc. available it's a bit more than a sandbox and it will be more than a sandbox.
And I guess you know 100% where the arctium source is, because you used them in your current screenshot

I am a pretty fluent developer, I work with what I know and seek resource for things that are unknown. I try to contribute and pass my findings on to the other developers. I am using Visual Studio Express to recompile and merge ArcEmu content and Actium as well as the GreenCore teams initial base code. We have to pretty much re-script most of ArcEmu's core to work with the Actium template since ArcEmu is in C++ primarily while Actium relies on C#. Again, anything else you would like to contribute? I am pretty busy here mate, don't have time to reply to multiple chit-chat posts. Are you interested in contributing to the team or are you just lurking about?

    Thanks,
    GreenTrees
