The "Decent Server Library" - Discussion thread

I am posting my personal list here, of servers that I have played on/tested. I would like others to add their personal favorites and explain why they think they should be added to the list. You may also disagree with one of the realms I posted, but be sure to be reasonable.
Also please keep the fun servers out of here. Rates also shouldn't matter, however bugfree content and especially proper class balance (spells/talents) are a must.

There are 3 rather big and serious Classic WoW servers:

    Vanillagaming.org
    500 People
    Every instance including Naxxramas scripted
Donation/Vote rewards, nothing overpowered - needed to keep the server up
    Working pathfinding system
XP rate x15, all other rates kept low for server economies sake

    Worldofscriptcraft.com
    2000 People
Heavy focus on PvP, some old Warcraftmovies legends rerolled there
    very strong community (see above)
    Instant level 49 (if wanted)
XP rate customisable from 1 to 5
    Every instance scripted
No donation/vote rewards, donations are welcome though
    Pathfinding working
Easily enough players to raid/pvp in whichever timezone you are

    wow-one.com
    2500+ People
    Balanced focus on PvE/PvP
    Donation/Voting for balanced rewards
XP Rate x12 or x1 or instant 60
    Pathfinding working
    Every instance scripted
Easily enough players to raid/pvp in whichever timezone you are

The Burning Crusade unfortunately does not have a lot of really good servers

    wow-one.com
    600+ People
    Every instance scripted
PvP working almost all the time
    Progressive content, currently T4/S1
    Donation/Voting possible for balanced rewards
    Balanced focus on PvP/PvE

    wowen.hellground.pl
    2500 people
    XP rates x2
Balanced focus on PvE and PvP
PvP/PvE regardless of the timezome you are in
Every instance scripted, progressive content T5/T6 as of lately
    Pathfinding working/in development

    LastWoW.com
    1500+ people
    XP rates x20, honor x2, arena x2
Balanced focus on PvE and PvP
However instances not scripted as well, players focus on PvP

    Arena-tournament.com
    250 people
    Instant 70, S3 equip
Most bugfree server out there, most known for pure arena players
    Donation for rewards, nothing overpowered
Originally launched by Kisha and me years ago, if your personal focus is on arena, check it out
I DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SERVER ANYMORE

Wrath of the Lich King seems to have a few servers left, however expect those to update to Cata when the time comes

    Rising-gods.de
    2500-3000 players
German, but support for English players
    Everything scripted well, progressive content
Players focus on PvP, however the team is tends more towards PvE
    completely blizzlike rates

    Arena-Tournament.com
    2500-3000 players
Intant level 80 and S7 equip
Farming better gear in BGs and Arena
Complete focus on PvP, all PvE is disabled
    Most bugfree server out there
    Pathfinding
    Donation for rewards, nothing overpowered

Cataclysm has only 2 servers (that I know of) which could be considered as relatively bug free and big

    WoW.freakz.ro
Up to 4000 players on 3 realms
Stuck on 4.0.6a for a while
XP rate x20, customizable by the user, blizzlike rates in endcontent
    Most free of class bugs
    Progressive content
    Mostly Romanian but international support
    Everything scripted
    Focus on PvE
While being focused on PvE, this realm provides an insanely good amount of working spells and talents. I didn't think this was even possible for Cata yet, but they provide a really balanced PvP enviroment and I enjoy playing on there myself. The international realm lacks players, but be sure to check it out and be amazed yourself.

    Monster-wow.com
Up to 5000 players on 3 realms
    XP rate x12
    4.0.6, updating to 4.2.2 slowly
Progressive content, therefore the update to 4.2.2 atm
Balanced focus on PvP and PvE
Completely international, subforums for every language
Please do NOT play on this server, unless you are really desperate for new content and you do not care about PvP or working spells/class balance in general

I've been playing a bit on WoW-One and ScriptCraft the last few days and they are both pretty neat.

The donations/votings are shoved a bit forcefully down user's throats on WoW-One (mainly from pressure of the actual guilds requiring you to get decent gear ASAP), but they seem to have a much bigger population / activity level than ScriptCraft.

ScriptCraft I found very nice and the lack of donation gear lets decent geared players really stand out.

I've been doing a bit of multi-box leveling on both servers, but I don't think I will continue to play on either for much longer however. Simply just do not have enough time to first invest in gearing up and then raiding.

If someone has a spare decent geared character on either WoW-One or ScriptCraft that I could have / borrow to raid and pvp with then I'm sure I could organize some way to thank you or at least some rep.

edit: Something you could consider doing if you have more time is add links to each server's recruitment thread that they have posted on here.

That is actually a really great idea. Also thank you a lot for the feedback. I'm going to do that a bit later after digging up all the threads.

Server I've started playing on is ChaoticUnited.com
    Level 19 Cap
    -5-25 Players on 1 Realm
-Fully custom quest line from 1-19
-Isn't much of a Twink server
-Mostly a custom based PVE server.

Just one of those servers you do not have to devote every night to. You can pop in and out while still going along with your day. Every item is obtainable somehow and the donation items are the same as BiS, which are also easily obtainable. Just came back to WoW so i didnt want to have to go and get all my Keybinds/macros and all my knowlege back. Server is still in basic stats. Devs are working along side players since the population is so low.

--Btw the Admin to this server is a mod here, if he doesnt agree with my post he has permission to delete it

I play on The Rebirth, which is without a doubt the best vanilla wow server, 100% blizzlike and least bugs of them all.

Scriptcraft has been taken down, but there is Mc-WoW.eu now.
It doesn't have close to as many players, but lets you get to 60 instantly if you bring friends and provides good scripts.

What happened to ScriptCraft? Any specific reason it was taken down?

Edit nvm it seems the admin went all emo because his friend or fellow admin quit or something.

Well basically Gummy said that he had to close the server because of money issues. I mean, I get that. They never had any ads, participated in rankings or handed out gear for donations (D1 or D2 for $50 would've not hurt anyone). But seriously, it's his own fault for not participating in rankings. They help out every server. And if he had just announced it a few days in advance, people would've donated to keep the server running, I can assure you that. Same thing happend to Arena-Tournament when Kisha and I just set it up. Ran low on money, made an announcement (didn't even ask for donations) and they kept flying in. People want to keep playing. And donating $5 once is still cheaper than 15 every month for a game they don't like anymore.

    wow-one.com (Feenix WoW 1.12.1)
    600+ People
    Every instance scripted
PvP working almost all the time
    Progressive content, currently T4/S1
    Donation/Voting possible for balanced rewards
    Balanced focus on PvP/PvE

    LastWoW.com
    1500+ people
    XP rates x20, honor x2, arena x2
Balanced focus on PvE and PvP
However instances not scripted as well, players focus on PvP
WoW-one is great, alot of potential - and wow! they have developers that actually knows how to fix shit.
Not like last-wow - Been around for a few years, only fixing bugs tru the database dont know C++ and the admins are retarded.

I've been looking up for Vanilla servers for a while now and I have checked out Q-Gaming.org, WorldofScriptcraft.com and Feenix. With 7 days /played on Scriptcraft, 4 on Feenix and 2 on Q-gaming.

I have played WoW since 2005, starting out on privates and then moving on to retail relatively fast. From what I gathered the only thing Feenix (wow-one.com) has going for it is it's rather high population of about 1500 (estimated guess, I noticed they lost players and heard so too). Compared to the other too, it has an incredibly high amount of game mechanic and class mechanic bugs such as a few spells. It's PvE scripts are basically non-existant and people are 5man-grouping up to farm Naxx trash. They hand out the best gear in the game of donations and pretty good raid gear for voting.

Scriptcraft has a playerbase of 400-500 (at peaks) right now. It doesn't provide the most blizzlike experience if leveling is a big part of the game for you, as most people start out at 49, take a day to level to 60 at 5 times experience and then farm pre-raid BiS gear right away. However it is a really nice server with a somewhat annoying community. No game breaking donation or vote rewards.

Q-gaming is pretty much Scriptcraft with less bugs in game mechanics and spells than Scriptcraft. Both are better than Feenix on these matters. From what I could gather Q-gaming might have the more accurate scripts than Scriptcraft too. Some people have been saying that Scriptcraft content was made easier (as in nerfed HP/Damage) to encourage the progress.

Basically if you want to make your choice between these servers, don't make it based on population. Make it based on what you want (class mechanics/scripts) to be working and on it's location. Scriptcraft is located in the US, Q-gaming somewhere in Europe.
