    The Frozen Throne

    This is sort of exploration related but I thought I'd post it here as I wanted to discuss the game mechanics and such more than just 'omg what have we found here'.

    So, I wanted to check out the Frozen Throne. I spent a couple of errors looking for it on the map to realise that it's not there? Wtf.
    I spent another few hours scrambing through DBC's and google searches trying to find out what was going on. The solution? It's handled via gameobjects and not map.
    Thats right, there is no map data for the frozen throne, everything is done through some gameobjects spawned on top of each other to form the base. Many other gameobjects are used to form the ground blowing up etc during the fight.
    Heres a very quick preview of me messing around with the gameobjects:

    So yeah, I'm rather confused. The map only works when the gameobject is first spawned, after a restart it stops working. All the gameobjects are type 33 (destructable building) even though there used as map and the bits that get destroyed are seperate objects.
    I was testing this on ArcEmu but they do not support destructable objects so we need somebody else to test this on mangos/trinity.

    The orc sound is made because your so high up, private servers don't like you flying that high. And the map opening was me trying to get the right map to display, I just respawned the object at the end of the video to show it works. Also I was unable to find the room that Frostmourne is in, and I don't know whether this is handled as a object either.

    Yeah, when 3.3 PTR came out it was driving me insane I couldn't find this exploring ICC and came to realize they recycled the A'Nub floor from ToC. Will be intresting to see now if they have to make it solid or if they can fix destructable objects not to bug out with Saronite Bombs like they currently do.

    Very interesting find indeed, Harry.
    Nice to know it's objects tho... FROZEN THRONE ON BARRACKS HERE WE COME.

    Been messing around with these myself, they are very interesting; the client even changes your worldmap loation (to the Frozen THrone) when you walk over them. They also refuse to scale, and they do not work if you set them to anything besides destructible.

    You make them. >.> Theres only about 5 creatures in the actual fight (not including any invisible triggers). If you do manage to make the actual fight that will be such a feat though, because of all the destructable buildings, the guys who pick you up, the ending cinematic with the jump animation etc. I have no idea how to do it.

    Destructable buildings, 15 minutes of work, just need correct data. - Checked.
    Guy that picks you up, Val'kyr, thats a vehicle packet also arcemu will support it soon. - Checked
    Ending Cinematic, Jump animation is move field, andy explained to me, ressurection is send mass ress request. - Checked.
    All other aspects of fight, take a lot lines of code therefore nothing special.
