Blizz like ban server idea

i know plenty of people get banned from wow a year and i had an idea from someone who has experience getting banned what if there was a server that the admins could find your character on the armory and recreate it in the server i know it would take work to make a fairly realistic blizz like server but i think we could get a good player base i can host if anyone want to help out (ps i know u all think im just a little noob but im honestly not i just never go on mmowned ive been dealing with wow ps since september 2007)

so just tell me if u think this could be a good idea

It would have to start off with a super good dedicated host for the server and site, and you would have to have Vbulletin forums to show you mean business, you would have to have your GMs on a super tight Leash, No kids on the team, All like 16-17+. And you would have to purchase a vent server. You do the math If you really want, I can help you... But its going to cost around $900 just to get it started

well ive got a computer with windows 7 with 4 gigs of ram and 2.7 ghz proc and a fast enough internet connection so that would most likely be the host im sure i could find a way to get v bulletin for free and a vent wouldnt be a big deal i could host it on another computer i have

I would also love to help with whatever i could do. Do you have a dual core or quad core? Also it would be fairly easy to find a cracked V-Bulletin and Ventrilo. I've always had this idea but i didnt think anyone would also want to do it.

What does vBulletin have to do with a serious project? I've seen many great servers that are 100% serious use other forum software, and in some great cases, they've made their own forum software. And besides, IP.Board is much better than vBulletin (at least in my opinoin, as well as some others) so just saying 'vBulletin = srs bsns' is such a bad statement. As well, what the bleep does a ventrilo server have to do with a successful server? What about teamspeak? What about in-game voice chat?
What about an IRC server, even?
And a startup server doesn't need all of that. Host it off your own computer using or not using Hamachi, just to start off so you can afford a dedicated server, and it's practically free. And you can get dedicated servers from like 30$ these days, so no; you don't need to be a millionaire to run a World of Warcraft server.

I think what he means is that you need a proffesional website/forums to attract players, some noob template you downloaded over the internet will have people hitting back in seconds.

You can get all that for free, maybe xept dedi but you can use phpBB or myBB both pwn asses out of commercial boards ( I know, they are not better but you dont need more for server ). You also don't need to pay developers if you use free software so to start you need max 50$!

A program was made to rip the characters items into a sql file, its just too much effort and there are too many characters to store in one database.

I remember seeing that aswell on some server. They had you download an addon which stored all your character's information. Then you would upload it to their site and they would give you, your character.

Sounds easily abusable. Players could claim characters they want rather than characters they own. How are you planning to solve such an issue, or am I not getting your point at all?

I dont think i explained myself correctly. You would download an addon, Then Go into your blizzard character and click a button. That would store all your account information in a file which you later uploaded to their site. They would NEED access to the account inorder to get it on the server.

Who the **** would give out their retail acc details to a private server?

You DONT give them your retail account details. The addon only captures gear information, profession skills, bags, items, and ect.
