LOL I have no clue why you guys are worrying...
There just seeing wowscape to set an example for others , if theyre intentions were to sue all private servers then they would see dozens at a time. A company like blizzard hires lawyers on a salary basis because they need them so often, so they have the lawers but theyve only sued 1 private server?
LOL guys as mentioned somewhere else in this thread , private servers have become like p2p its impossible to stop. Not only that , but their so profitable that weve been able to actually go to court and try to fight back. I remember with my own server with only 100 people per day was getting 200-300$ per day and I was 16 years old. Now Imagine with 20k players?
Lol if you were making 200-300 per day you would be making more than your parents working. Most servers make 200-300 a month not per day... thats an outrageous amount of cash for only 100 people meaning 1 person donated 2-3 dollars a day... really?
Wowscape is a businesses. Private server that are 40th place and up are businesses. Its just business with the sole purpose of money. Its the harsh reality of it.
WoWScape had 20 times more players than me so lets say 100x20 = 2000 dollars per day$$. What happens with lawyers like that? They get a penalty/fine , nobody goes to jail and with good lawyers their paying 50% of what they should be.
It is profitable for WoWScape to stall and continue running the server as they will make more than their penalty.
Its funny that some dont even know that

Iam sure you did hear about official Mmorpg cash shop games, well there was a report that around 10-15% of the playerbase are potential customer, now do the math with servers where only around 1k player are online but do the math with the playerbase and not the people online..the playerbase on such servers are still huge and scape had multiple servers and a playerbase with more than 15-25k people. Iam sure that is similar on WoW private servers, maybe even more. The donation system simulates an ingame cash shop, in reality it is not even a donation since if you donate you dont expect to get anything in reward by the definition.Lol if you were making 200-300 per day you would be making more than your parents working. Most servers make 200-300 a month not per day... thats an outrageous amount of cash for only 100 people meaning 1 person donated 2-3 dollars a day... really?
Sorry, but iam not sure who is more stupid - either the server owner who gambles with too high amount of profit to draw attention to blizzard like on a silver plate or the player who invests so much money that it gives you the feeling he has no relation to money itself, especially when it is just a teenager...I mean 600 $ are you nuts, even 150$ is too much. Do you guys know how costly life is if you need to work for a living ?Including my ~$600 that I bought equipment for my Paladin
Only the mods, gm´s and devs which were silly enough to work for free...the owner is 36 years old or more....LOL - So Blizzard suing a bunch of teens? If thats it.

Or it could be because of them going for the biggest, like they did with glider, and then they can threaten the rest easily by simply pointing on the verdict from the case against wowscape
Have u read the documents? It wont be profitable, was it profitable for glider? no,.. and tbh I think Glider had a bigger bank to take from, also to be able to fight it for longer than wowscape will, and in the glider case blizzard didnt even wanna consider taking a settlement
So whats the formula to keep from getting busted by bliz? stay small? how small?
Or a manner in which we can do it legally?

1. This thread is 2 years old.
2. There is no possible way in which you can emulate WoW, since it's violating it's terms of use, which specifically states that the use of 3rd part programs is violating that, and I'm sure there's somewhere else where it says that it's illegal to even emulate the game on a server that doesn't belong to Blizzard.
3. The main reason Blizzard took notice in Alison Reeves was because of the insane amount of revenue that she had generated. (Son of a bitch bought a treadmill.)
So just only accept literal, by-definition, donations. Not purchasing gear. Just people pitching in to keep the server alive, not expecting a return (at least in-game).
Private servers are in a way free advertising for Blizzard.
btw, this made me lol:
