Spicin' it up. What should be done?

Emulation is getting into a lull. At least, it is here on MMOwned.
Does anyone have suggestions to how we can 'spice' things up in this section, and get more active participation? And why do you think things have slowed down here recently? Personally, I find people are going to more specialized websites - like, if they want mangos stuff, they go to the mangos forums - but, I think that that is a phase of the past and if we, the 1337 people of MMOwned can work together and keep releasing new and better things, MMOwned can become ubercool again for emulation. Whats your opinion?

I think the beginning of school might have increased the lull in-general, but I also think that a lot of drama has surrounded MMOwned and that might be playing a role. I don't know how to "spice things up" though...

Encourage every one to think out side the box. Emulator servers haven't even scratched the surface of what a real custom database could be or any server could be. We do not use its full potential. We now only see a fun server with custom items maybe some quests but we have seen it all. Go further than that go beyond any thing before. Not just custom creatures, items, and quests, but to get deep down to the scripting, dbc changes, game play, and a truly custom world.

The number one thing we could do is unite, set aside your problems and work together. You think Microsoft and Apple bash each other, hating one another? They have there own team together to make both of there OS better. Why can't the emulator teams do the same? Even teams made here at Mmowned, make a team and don't give up complete your goal to make the new database, or script.

To summarize, think out side the box go beyond any thing else. Unite together to make a team effort and become some thing big, and don't give up.

I think that's becouse people want to follow the development / participtate into their choosings emulator / database.

Imagine if you'd like to start making patches for mangos. For what reason would you work on mmowned? Your thread would be filled more or less with "arcemu is better - PLZ PLZ PLZ RELESAE REPACK ANU - Sorry im clueless but i just came in to say good luck" people.

And definitely would not one of any of the current emu team's come up to different forum to review patches.

imo a centralized forum for every emulator / database is a big no-no - you woudlnt be able to discuss how much you like apples since other guys like bananas.

The Emu releases are slow because they need moderator approval.

Tbh theres nothing that great that needs moderater approval atm, theres one or two blizzlike repacks which are a no no as any retard can make one of them, and we somehow continue to get people asking questions. I mean EMU RELEASES does that not give somethign away? Oh yeah and the odd basic LUA teleporter.

    catch my drift?

    Yes, there is a lull.

Yes, it's because of school and drama.

You want to spice things up? Get everyone on MMOwned *Like people who actually know how to make a damn decent script or know SQL/C++, the likes, and Everyone just being general, not physically everyone* and do something together.

Not the constant BS of "Oh I made an orc who shoots shadowbolts and doez 3k.4k damage" and the other completely un-original "boss" scripts. Emulation here needs some SERIOUS re-evaluation...

Plus MMOwned hasn't been uber cool with emulation for god knows how long, because people don't seriously think, they don't seriously work, and they don't get real stuff, real progress, real WORK done. Just QQ when you don't feel inspired to do something or pull a "CBA" card when you just feel lazy. Get that bug out of your pants and get to work, and we'll really put some effort and likability into MMOwned, and become more of a community, rather than a diverse, probably biased group, with some idiots going "TrinityCore2 is the only way to go." and "Mangos ftw!" and those noobs QQ'ing for more ArcEmu, which from what I know *And I don't study much about emulators, I just use them*, is pretty much dieing off.

Suggestions, suggestions, suggestions. *Just gave 'em.* :D Let's see who reads this WITH-OUT pulling a TL;DR.

I'm pretty positive that its the school thing thats been slowing it down, I have like a load of homework so i can barely even get on the computer anymore

And over the summer i was gone cause i had alot of summer homework. I'm pretty positive its most likely the school work, or maybe I'm just unlucky.

I think it's because the ****ing moderation on the damn releases section. All the biased moderators hit the "deny" button because of what THEY consider a good or bad release.

And what we consider is a good release is, 99% of the time, exactly what everyone else thinks.

What would you define a good release as, then?
Surely you have to have a definition of a "good release" for multiple moderators, of course!
