While, this is possible and actually not really that hard, it is completely pointless, the very thought of Lua is pointless. The only reason i can even understand it, is because its a great stepping stone into the world of scripting and programming. Lua is hard on the server, to run, though it doesn't seem like it, if you compare a server with 100 Lua scripts to one with 0, there will be a huge difference. Lua is already overly used enough, simply giving more features would turn everyones complaints of crappy private servers, into complains of shitty ones. Lua is one of the most unnecessary things in emulation. Though it is a great way to learn, people have started to depend on it and forget about the langauge that created it C++, all the complaints of lack of functionality, are they're own fault, if they really wanted it that bad, they'd go learn C++ and add their own functionality but obviously no one will do that. This was a seemingly good idea i'll give it that, for those that don't know the effects of Lua atleast. The only positive of lua is basic scripting capabilities. It lags your server, badly. While C++ will hardly harm the performance rate in comparison, and it offers much more advanced capabilities.
If someone really wanted this that bad they would make it, but chances of any emulator being stupid enough to implement are very slim
Simple, Lua is good for newbies to learn the basic aspects of scripting. The first language i ever learned was Lua and now, i know C++, C# and VB.net and more i just really don't wanna list them all. The point is thats a great starter for people. Don't bash on it, chances are if you started programming and scripting with emulation, you didn't jump straight into C++, you used luaHow is doing anything in Lua logical?
