    [Project] Project R.O.T.H

Project R.O.T.H (A.K.A Revenant Of The Horde) is a new website that I've been working on to increase my CSS knowledge. I have kept a good amount of it secret, and not even my closest friends have seen this one.
Some of you have seen the quality sites that I've brought to the community before, and I am MORE than doing that again with this one, but I need to know if it's worth it.
Tell me what you think guys, and be DEAD honest with me. I will include a link to a live "BETA" and also a screenshot.

The "BETA" has a flash video header that I edited from the BC intro movie in your client files.

    Link here:

ALL Criticism is welcome.. I will be changing the orgrimmar header background to something less "stretched" looking as per request from HerleyBob, so ignore that.

Needs a background behind the main website layout other than white (maybe black?) and in my opinion the hyperlinks on the left should be rollover's Took a very long time to load up, but that was probably the host being slow. Apart from these small things, looks nice.

yeah, the background will be a brownish-black and the reason it took so long to load may have been the host, or the flash, I'm not sure how to define the swf to load last, so if anyone does know how to do that, it would be of great help. ( I may just change it to a high res gif). As for them being rollovers, I do have rollovers set in the images for those that want to use those instead of a flash header, since for some reason they won't load in conjunction.

    Thanks for the feedback.

It's nice, but i'll wait to judge until I see the finished site. You asked for criticism so i'll be blunt, don't get me wrong though, it's a good job.

    - The white background is terrible, but you already said you were going to change that.
    - News text is a bit hard to read, especially on the last line.
    - I think that you should just use a background for the navigation buttons rather than make a separate image for text, for each one.
    - It's fixed width, which is bad. Go look at it in 1024x768.
    - Doesn't look correct in IE6, as much as I hate doing it, browser compatibility is important.
    - Navigation has a box above it, i'm assuming your going to put text there, but if not that should be removed.

Breaking aspect ratio is a big no-no. The entire design reeks of it. Also, don't increase the size of low-res pictures - it makes them looks smothered and blurry.
The font choice isn't that good - While you preserve readability on the far-oversized headers, the nav buttons and actual text remain too difficult to read. Consider using Trebuchet MS for the nav and any non-cursive serif font for the actual content. I'd also suggest increasing the contrast by brightening up the background image.
As for the footer, the text is misplaced on that, and again I'll mention the poor image resizing.

Just out of curiosity - is there any element on the site that you actually made yourself?

EDIT: I understand I might sound a bit harsh, but believe me it's for your own good

I don't actually use IE6, I use Firefox. I have copies of most of the major browsers to test my own websites.

    Everything that TheSpidey said.
As well, remember that when you use a font like Morpheus for plain text, only people with that font will be able to view that header as you intended it to be viewed. I suggest using a "common" font, or utilizing sifr technology.

The top part of it is very low quality. Also the white background. But i read you we're going to fixx it, and the links. Should be rollovers. Thats all i can say as -. Though everything else looks very nice
