    [Event] Chess Event/Info Need feedback

    Chess Project will begin 5/05/09

    Information: I will be making a huge board with the likliness of that of a chess board and make npc's specifically made for the board. (Ex. King, queen, pawn, rook, knight, bishop...)
    The rules from chess will be the rules for this supersized creation. Hope you all enjoy this as much as I will have done making it.

    Proceedure: I will set it up and the moves will be the same as chess, but there's a catch...
    You have to have at least one gm present to play the game as the npc's on the board will only jump spaces with a gm's .npc move =).

    Story/Intro: It has been years since anyone has set foot on the hellish, frozen, seemingly-barren wasteland titled Northrend. The time has now come, the mortals have again reached Northrend and are fighting vigorously to claim Northrend. Throught these battles the mortals have lost brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, cousins, uncles, aunts, and loved ones. We will not let them go unnoticed, not unhonored. King Varian Wrynn has also returned on this final battlefield to avenge his fallen bretheren and all unjust deaths alike. Varian set up a strong hold and handed command to Highlord Fordring whome alongside Saurfang The Younger was brutally befallen by not the scourge of arthas... But a rogue band of scourge themselves. Assumed that Sylvanus caused this Wrynn assaults Sylvanus in hopes of vengance. Upon arriving Wrynn finds that Varimathras, Sylvanus's long trusted demonic servant, has turned against her in attempts to overtake Undercity. Wrynn fights his way through the hellish halls of Undercity to finally meet not Sylvanus, but all of the horde Leaders. He goes berserk and attempts to battle them all, but is intervened by Jaina Proudmoore. Once Proudmoore returns them to Stormwind she explains the current issue. The rogue band of scourge are not Sylvanus's work but Varimathras's attempts to kill off Arthas and the mortals to reclaim Azeroth for the demons and release Ner'Zhul from the prison he was damned to. In the passive quarters of Dalaran, Varian, understanding now, though not to excited, agrees to make a pact just for this battle with the horde. Learning that Sylvanus has just as much hate as he toward Arthas for having slew her and destroying her former kingdom. They join together constructing a new faction of mortals titled "Argent Vengance" and return to Northrend to claim their vengance. Upon arrival to very steps of the Icecrown Citidel The Argent Vengance confronts Arthas and his army of scourge. This is it! This is the final battle! Will you fight alongside "The Scourge" Commanding as Arthas and yet again slaughter to reclaim Northrend or will you fight alongside "The Argent Vengance" and avenge all mortals as well as put an end to Arthas's corruption and destruction? The fate of Azeroth lies in your hands...

    Updates: Well, we have again added more to this amazing event! We have added some more scenery, the teleporters, and best of all, A fully custom npc complete with custom on-spawn-yell and menu text as well as two tabards to show your support for the side you have chosen to fight alongside.

    Updates: Well not much on this one just a few minor changes in npc's
    The Scourge Rider's have no been renamed Scourge Knight and have permenant mount, the Scourge Champions now have weapons and no longer look like bad ass fist brawlers, and Toomora(Vendor) now rides a Frostwyrm.

    Looks awesome. How did you code it? LUA or C++? Im Guessing C++?

    With Lua yes, but I did c++ and it's also my first time with this type of event =). But as for ability to do it without gm's yes. There is one option of the vehicle mechanics and spells to move them. Almost exactly like karazhan's Chess battle. Another is npc follow script via lua to follow the targeter on contact =).

    I could have done that but the others in the project said it would be much easier for them to know what was what on the board if it was not varied like you want. Lol, but thanks i'll look into that.
