Contrary to what you believe, only the developers of the original ascent project can demand to have your core files. No one can go up to a server, willy-nilly, and demand to see source files.

If you tried to get them to give up their core source, they will simply tell you this.

Trust me, is it worth going through a long process of reporting someone to a website, who you have NO information on except a username and the knowledge that they are using parts of data that was included in a source with a GPL licenese thats the same core the person is still working on?

Terms are terms, doesn't mean you'll just justice to those terms. Lastly, if someone did that to me and they actually did something--you'd regret it more than me.

Unfortunately, a lot of people are too caught up in owning what little they have to prevent something like this from happening.

There is no need to lawfully attack someone for not upholding software development freedom. Only to shame and disdain them for their greed and selfishness.
