every private wow core is based off other scripts, bits and pieces taken from other cores wich where / are published under the GPL licence.

GPL licence means that they have to publish anything that they created with the contents of the files that they used from other files wich are protected by the GPL licence.

So basically some people are breaking the terms of agreement and either have to release there core or delete it.

Lol they don't have to as no1 in their mind would bother even attempting to force someone to give up the files, plus i doubt very much that any solicitor would help you to try and sue them or get the files or w/e.

Contrary to what you believe, only the developers of the original ascent project can demand to have your core files. No one can go up to a server, willy-nilly, and demand to see source files.
