2.4.3 update Character Problem

OK, I have a test server and when I update from 2.4.1 to 2.4.3 I can't connect to the server unless I dump my current characters. How do I upgrade without losing my current characters. I have tried oth the Arcemu and Ascent core's and without success. Any advise will be great.

just copy the accounts and characters table well dump them update the logon then re-execute them

I am currently running Ascent 4551 core with LDB. When I upgrade my core, database and game to run the 2.4.3 version I can't get in game. I leave the character database the same. I start the server and game then I get to connected ,but no characters! The connected stays there and no further. If I delete all the characters then I can create one I can connect. My question is how do I connect without losing all the characters?

Thank you that worked, now I can see the characters but now I get logon failed!
