When I open Navicat Lite 8 and create a new connection under the following circumstances:
Connection Name: WoTLK Server
Host name/IP address: localhost
Port: 5432
User name: root
Password: mangos
(Save Password box is checked)

I get the error: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

I have also tried 127.0.0.1 under Host name /IP address, and under port I've tried 3306, the MySQL port. Any suggestions? (I'm 99.9% sure I installed MySQL correctly so I don't think that's the problem but you guys probably know more about this than me) Thanks in advance +Rep for the guide!

use a diffrent port, i suggest 3306

I just downloaded WotLK beta client, but it's 8681 =\ any way to unpatch it? I never installed the patch.

I've tried 3306, it didn't work giving me the error message: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.

I'm running Vista if that means anything.

I have followed the guide that was posted here.. all went fine, patched it up to 8634.
Logged in, and on the character select screen it said "patch required".
Now I also tried to use the ad.exe in my WotLK beta folder again after I patched it up to 8634.

The command for riding .lookup spell riding and should show all the riding codes find the one you want and type .learn #### .

I got the same code just use the dbc files in the data directory that you got when you downloaded.
