    New Blizzard patch

So what happens when Blizzard brings out a new patch?
Are people expected to downpatch to play on our 2.4.2 servers?

Nothing happens unless its a milestone (2.4, 2.3, 2.2), you have to stay on your current patch

If its a minor update (2.4.1, 2.4.2, 2.3.3) then you just change your build.

not always true sometimes new opcodes are added and they will be unhandled or some packet sizes will change, but for the most part you should be fine but if not get yourself a packet logger and update the opcodes/packet sizes

Blizzard rarely changes opcodes or packet structures on minor builds, they usually only change packets and shit when large updates happen like 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, etc there really isnt any need to worry or anything

Blizzards 2.4.2 patch fixed some minor things. And added some spawns and etc to the sunwell and fixed some minor errors. Nothing major and in your configurations if you have your min and max build set from 1 to 9999 then your fine.

I wish I could help. I am so new at running a server it makes my head spin. Does anyone know where I can get the patches 2.4.2, 2.4.3 that work real good? For now I am running 2.4.1 .

Um most emulators support 2.4.3 now.
Just do a clean checkout of their svn and compile as usual.
