auto shutdown and wierd items [help]

ok two things im going to discuss, one involves editing the mysql and the other is somewhere in the server config files. here are my questions

1. my server after running for X amount of time will automatically shutdown. i thought this might be caused by the die directive in the server config file but i have changed that and it doesnt help. im currently using the latest version of ascent repack. apples ascent repack btw. and i need to know how to fix this problem as its bothersome for my gms.

2. is there a way to make items with a special custom command. i want to make an item that when you use it, it adds ten talent points to your pool. is there a way to write A a lua script, B edit mysql, or C create a custom spell then link it to the item. anyway to make this work guys.

You will be needed to use c++ scripting for that.

For the first question.

The server may shutdown beacuse of the Ram memory is full.

i have 2gigs of ram in my server and it always shutdown around the same time. is there anyway to fix it?

if it shuts down at around the same time it may be some of the other things that ascent does while running, you may want to watch what is does to see what is happening when it shuts down.

Also, which flavor of Ascent are you using?

lol, no it doesnt crash as in there is no "error system shutdown" or other message of the like. it simply says server shutdown i 5...4...3...2...1 and shutsdown all on its own. also im using the latest apples repack ascent server for wow ver 2.4.2. and the reason i laugh spidey is one minute before you posted i sent you a pm about helping me with it so yes it would be very helpful.

Around how long times does it take untill it shuts down?

Try turning logging on, and see what happens before the shutdown.

Or maybe you have some sort of launcher that auto-restarts the server? :P

Yes, do you have "Ascent Restarter"? And if so do you use it? This has a option to shutdown server after a set amount of time, id surgest taking a look mate

id guess 12-18 hours before it initiates auto shutdown. but this is a true private server and very few people get on it. and ill do that spidey thanks.
