Yet Anothe Plea For Help, Urgent

ok so ive connected to his server and all that good stuff, and i downloaded Navicat and i have all of my cousins info, but i cant figure out how to connect TO him, it just says unable to connect server host and whatever my name is, or something along those lines, sorry i cant give specifics, its late. My cousin said that its a very confusing program if you dont know what your doing, which i dont, im just getting started with all of it. please help, it will be much appreciated and thanks in advance :wave:

Are you trying to connect to his server or are you making your own? If you made your own, you use navicat to set one up.

Since you said your connecting to his server, he needs to make sure that people can connect to him. If people can connect, you need to get the realmlist from him to connect to his server. Once you get that, you go into your main WoW folder and open up realmlist.wtf with a text editor (Notepad, Wordpad) and edit the realmlist.

no no no im trying to connect from my navicat to his, and his database, i can get on his server and everything and i have GM status. i just cant get our two navicats to connect, and like i said HIS database, im just trying to connect.

Make sure that you allow mySQL to 'Accept Remote Connections'. You most likely would have chosen this when you installed mySQL.
If you are using a repack, try to remove all of the mySQL and reinstall. Just google 'MySQL Server' and choose the first link that comes up, download nad install ,and away you go.

direct quote from my cousin, i told him to just write down what he means, i myself have never used the program before, its my first time. but yea this is what he said

"Ok, my cousin already has someone else connected to his mySQL, and he has remote connects accepted, what were trying to do is, connect ME to HIS Database using Navicat, i dont know where to go when im actually INSIDE Navicat, to connect to another database, like once I have navicat open, where do I go to connect to his database? hes already granted me all privliages and all that, Thanks."

Im pretty sure he wrote that coming from my perspective, im the one who doesnt know what to do, to connect. so just use that quote as a reference as if i were the one saying that, because that is the situation lol.

Okay.
Click 'New Connection' in Navicat.
Enter all the information requested - your cousin should have given you this.
Then click the button that says 'Connect', and voila!

It works when I give him all MY navicat info, but then I dont see him in the database, how does he get a different name but still log in? Friend of mine who is also in the DB coems up under all my database options as his username.

You don't need to enable romote acces, your cousin needs to do it in his MySQL.

Second of all, has he made a user for you? If he has he needs to enter your IP adress in the manage user, not his.

we are just about positive its nothing on his end of the deal, its all his database and everything, im trying to connect to him and his database, so we can work on his server. when im in my own navicat trying to set up a connection, i put in my name, hamachi ip, a user name and pass, and he adds it all in on his end and i get a pop up that says something along the lines of Can connect to mySQL server on"" and then it gives my ip...im at a loss for what to do and so is he..i do appreciate everyones ideas though, but please help lmao

- Does he makes a "custom" user name and password for you?
- If he is making a custom username etc for you, he is writing in a IP adress there.
Ask your cousein to take a look on this picture, and see if he does it right here. I think he is doing wrong on the Host thing.

And remember to be connected to his Hamachi

after i make it i hit open connection and it says it cant connect to mysql server.
