1TB/s should be a good one.
Are you sure the latency isn't from the server choking on ram and cpu power?
And you also just double posted.. again..
<- this is the edit button, use it.
i have 20Mbit/s down and 512KBit/s upstream..,. no problems...
DarkoneXP, that wont work for a big server.
And if you runing a server, you should have 3-4 gb ram. And very high upload speed. Download doesn't realy matter
0o.. my homeserver is just small, 5players... 2gb ram.
If you want a large server, you need much more.
For my large server with about 500~1000 Players online i have 100MBIT connection, extendable to 1GB/s.
8GBs of ram.
Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core CPU
its CPU-Usage is 25% in average. Ram free in average is 5GB
I have 10/10 mbit, hosting my privat server through my labtop, Ascent doesnt take much memory/cpu usage pfffft.
To host a server you need good upload, the 512kb-1mbit upload just burns your server, U cant host a good server with such a bad upload, thats why you lag and have a latency on 400ms. A server with 400 ms is not a good place to be -.-
Anyway, theres no reason to rent a server, with 100/100 mbit , if your project is to have a server with like 100 players online. Just upgrade your internet at home, U said you had 10mbit line , if that is 10/10 you will be just fine.

yes it is a 10/10 and my upload is like in the 1.5
Perhaps the problem is with the players' location, if they're far from you it's normal they experience high pings
I dont understand dude .. you say u have 10/10 mbit upload and 1.5 ?
please be correct, im a bit confused now , 10/10 is 10mbit up and 10mbit downWhat do you mean about the 1.5 ?
10 Mb are about 1.5 MB
Bits and bytes![]()
Well a 10/10 mbit line should be able to have around 100 players online , without starting to kill the server. But still i guess it depends on where you get ur players from. Most of my players are from europe, and my server is also located here.
