@Scyther why don't you just go somewhere else, and actually leave the people who are hoping/helping get the info together alone. Who says its impossible? Who said its never going to happen? Just because YOU say it wont happen doesn't mean shit. If the people from Ascent can't do it, someone else will. The client is there in tact, there is no reason why they couldn't do it with a few days of getting their heads around the new client.

It is possible to make a sandbox out of this. In fact, I and my team are actually going to attempt it. Don't know how long it will take, but anyone with any C++ knowledge is welcome to try and help - one consolidatd project will be better than a bunch of people individually working.
We are in this as a community. Let us work together.
You can PM me if you want to help, or want to see what we have gotten down so far.
We have edited the core so that it supports 3.X connections, but not much more. It will successfully accept the connection, but then the entire client crashes and everything goes PEW PEW.

Earlier today you could create a char on the Coldarra alpha test realm,although you would get an error on entering the world "Char locked,contact billing support".
Now you can't even create a Char,error pops up "You've reached ur account char maximum"(even though i have 0).
Anyone that made a char earlier,mind trying logging it now? Sadly i deleted the deathknight i created earlier today -.-

That's a real pic alright, and its the real alpha client. Blizzard has taken the links to the downloader off their site, but you can still get em' at these RapidShare links.

Eh, can't post em since I dont have the rep, lol. You can go to the WOTLK section of wikidot if you are intrested in downloading the client.

I'm in the process of downloading the US client right now, and I'm cruising at 200kbs. A few friends of mine are working on a small sandbox server - but I've currently got no ETA on when it will be done.
