Agreed, lol you said trow :P, Ascent still updates their stuff, just not alot.. They just upgraded to ascent 4553, and its a update so they update it not alot, but i still think OpenAscent is a try so i would use that until Burlex returns or blah blah blah so im going with OpenAscent, So should you.

FYI: Burlex is NOT coming back. He is working full-time in Ascent for WowScape. He has said that he will continue working on Ascent and even creating a new version of it, but will keep it private.

The only way that he will release any new versions is if servers such as Toxic-WoW disband. Which if you haven't noticed they have been number one on the charts for weeks, so the odds of them braking up is slim to none.

All we have now is OpenAscent, Mangos, and repacks of people still trying to continue with regular Ascent.

Don't expect a single official Ascent update or support from now on.

Not in 100 years i prefer to rely on Aceindy, Iceman and Gorm.... they are pro, i like them, i love them ^^ I like to compare Aceindy with Burlex, both hard workers and very smart persons

1. not hard to get to number 1 with cheats... they use proxies like hell for voting sites >< i prefer an honest server that has good developers...
2. Burlex will be back... btw they still update but slowly (without burlex) but that is the difference between our server and lots of others for example... we do NOT rely on ascent... now our developers are still fixing corebugs in ascent, still bringing updates (as they are part of ascent team)
That is what i hate about lots of servers, they rely on the development team of the emulator :-/ If you own a big server or even a smaller one you should be able to do some things yourself.

ascent is officially closed, nothing we do can change that although how the hell the chinese make 10k a day is out of my knowledge... like i could sell donations for crack and not make 10k a day, let alone i have never even seen a chinese server advertised anywhere at any point.

I work on my own server. Nothing mega-large, but something that I play with some friends on Thursday nights. Every Admin should be able to work on their own server.

Ehh... I think that for now i will use OpenAscent. Unless Ascent magically comes back to life then I think OpenAscent is the way to go.
