What do to with .lua...?

Evening folks, time for the noob to ask some questions.

Where do I get .lua files?
Where do I save .lua files?
These questions also connects to .xml


Basicly, I need to know where to put the lua scripts.

Answers and/or links is highly appreciated

You make lua files, there are plenty of good guides on them.

You save them like this illidan.lua
using notepad.

.XML are web based files and you can google for info on them.

For Ascent, you can get .lua files on these forums and ascentemu and well, emu forums.
For add-ons (Yes, they use LUA) go to Curse for example.

For ascent, you save lua files in folder "Scripts". For add-ons, in World of Warcraft/Interface/addons

For Ascent, LUA does not connect to .xml.

These are all good answers, but I still wonder, where do I save my .lua files?

I'll use an example, because, examples rule..

I've just made a script for a npc, where the script tells the npc to cast a spell at a certain percentage etc.. Where do I put it so that it can be put to use?
Like a certain folder or something?
(I'm on a private server, trying to learn about stuff)

You place them into your scripts folder located in your ascent folder.

EDIT: Eh, I don't have a scipts folder in my ascent folder, except maybe scripts_bin..?

no its the scripts folder if its not there then add it also make sure that LUA is enabled in your ascent-world.conf
