Now my question to you: If i change ascent-realms.conf from my emulator to
<Realm1 Name = "Earthen Ring"
Address = "206.16.235.63"
Icon = "RP"

Will then my emulated server connect to Earthen Ring?

No, because you an't connecting to Blizz login server. Blizz ard Servers are all connected by battlegroups or something like that. They won't allow you to connect. IP address from US realm list by datacenter - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

Indeed, it didn't work for me. My own login server can't connect to the Blizzard realm server, it sais "disconnected from server".
To get the ip address of the realmserver,
Start WoW login to the realm you normally play on.

Press ALT-TAB to minimize WoW and return to the desktop.

Click Start then Run, then type "cmd" or "command"

In the DOS window type "netstat -n"

Wait until the command prompt appears again, (approx 1 minute)

You will see an IP address connected on port 3724. It will look like
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:3724 this is your connection to Blizzard.
