Question / Help needed

I have followed all the steps in the guides section for connecting to a private realm but so far had no success. Despite all I have done my WoW client insists on trying to connect me to the normal realms.

The only possible explanation I can think of is that I am in Europe and using the European version of the game.

Is this the problem or am I simply overlooking something? Please help.

For the sake of argument lets assume I am starting from scratch.

no,im using a europe version too,but you should use a 2.3 core,or better a repack for 2.3,and make sure your wow folder is patch 2.3 not 2.3.1 for example,than make sure that in realmlist.wtf theres only set realmlist 127.0.0.1.Than look if mysql-nt.exe is running,if yes start the repack,than it should work.
