Compile or Repack?

Well, I've serached this many times and can't find much on the topic for what I'm looking for.

I've decided to take a break from scamming as it has put me in some debt with paypal. Anyways, I was looking to compile a server, but found only outdated links and posts here.

My question is, is there a repack that is updated every so often with new updates and such. Also, would this repack be all custom? I'm looking for a server that is almost exactly like a Blizzard server, so that I can do my own creations. I would like to be able to update it most patches aswell.

P.S. I did try to compile a server, but I seem to have problems with the Ascent bin. For some reason, ascent.config, login.config are not showing up. Only some .pdb files. I dont know if it where I compiled to (mmoforge) or if these were taken out completely.

ascent-world.conf etc are in the scr folder for your ascent trunk and the most blizzlike db is NCDB atm
