    SQL Troubles

I am CONSTANTLY not being able to connect mySQL....

Its been a month...maybe two since I've tried it, and I still cannot connect.

I've honestly forgotten my password, but even when I knew the password,
I'd occasionally get this error. I've also had troubles with this in the past...
is this usual? Is there something I can do? Sorry for being an r-tard, I kinda
know what i'm talking about...I've been emulating since wowemu back in 1.11

How about telling us what the error is?
Do you know your password or don't you?

Apologies...I'm using Navicat 8 Light for MySQL

    error: "2003 - Can't Connect to MySQL Server on '127.0.0.1' (10061)"

I don't recall my password whatsoever -- is there a way to reset or
    change it?

    Not that I know of.
But that message isn't 'wrong pass' - it's 'mysql is off'.

    1. How Do I turn it back 'on'?
    2. I've gotten this identical password with previous password failures.

See, my problem is I don't *understand* where the password starts from and
is stored...and is it possible just to make a new DB?

I'm sorry, I know my ignorance is frustrating, but SQL is still kinda above me at the moment.

Well usually you just go over to your mysql directory and run mysql_start.
If you're using XAMPP or WAMP then just use them to activate mysql.

Did you try googling "Reset mysql password"?

I've been searching for the past day and I have been unable to find anything...

I've even tried to use Navicat's online resources and unable to come up with anything...

any suggestions as far as starting over?

    reinstall navicat maybe?

    EDIT--REINSTALL DIDNT WORK

I'm gonna try to clear out the folder some...maybe...

try deleteing the current MySQL sertvice and installing a more up to date one, also disable firewalls, and make sure ports forwarded. this means that the server gets out of PC but cant re-enter.
