problems with realmlist.WTF

im tryin to join a premade private server scince i cant make one and when i go to the realmlist.wtf file it wont open the file instead it will open a "windows cannot open file" thing what should it do?

Your opening it with the wrong type of program

Open Up NotePad then click Open->WoW->Realmlist then open it

i did all that and 1 wat should i do with the patch list and 2 it freezes at handshaking

The freezing at handshaking is because your patch doesn't match with the core. Do you have 2.4?
