[QUESTION] What must be done

...to upgrade to the 2.4 patch with the current repack thats out? Please explain step by step, I could not find one single guide on how to update everything, please go step by step.

I wouldn't recommend using any current repacks. ( and in my professional opinion I don't think you should use one at all. )
Ascent doesn't support 2.4, and this repack is just a through together and when running a server with it, it goes down faster the a Thai hooker.

But, if you wanted to you need to download the core and configure it.

If u still got your old Ascent database ( around rev4000 min ) just use that or use his repack database.

Download 2.4 and then play I guess...

I would definitely follow what N2Dark says on this, just from reading the 2.4 thread there are too many problems with the repack, from Flight Masters not working, to Not being able to loot mobs when you kill them.

Just give it a few more days Im sure someone will post something viable that is stable to use.

Soooo... once someone posts a stable core, I just copy that into my Private Server folder and overwrite the DBC? But then my DB is all of my custom items and such?

Oh, and once I try to execute the database.sql into Heidi, it just loads and stops halfway through and says it has stopped responding.

There are probably already 10 topics if not more spread all arround the forum about this :-/
There is no repack for 2.4 that willl work good! there is not even a core that is stable enough... burlex has taken the 2.4 core into his private svn for further development for a stable release that is it.
So just wait till it gets released on public svn
