[Question] Website Script for remote DB access?

What I'm trying to do is have a couple of my friends who play on my server be able to add their own items to the DB. The only way I know of is to give them remote DB access, but if they don't know what they are doing, they could really screw stuff up =P My real question is, is their some sort of website script that allows someone to design a weapon/armor then submit it, therefore executing it to the DB. I know this can be done...I've used one on someone's server before but I think he may have scripted it himself, any ideas on this?

I can maby get a script there'll allow them to make an DB acc whit user + pass and allow their IP to connect

Yea, and does anyone remember the website with the template for creating items, and after you entered the info you just saved it to an .sqp file and downloaded, it...maybe we could get the source from their...just an idea

ADE is good, but only for windows and you have to download it. I am just thinking of something for mac users and an online script would be pretty cool =P

You can use ADE and make a frontend for your DB. Isn't hard at all.

the only thing i can think of it when you give them remote access just make their privileges execute only the wont be able to delete anything but you can make sql files that delete stuff so im not sure

just give them an account in navicat and make a remote connection and then they can execute their batch file after making it in wow-V

You can use phpmyadmin, it's a very good php program on a website, remote database editor over http. I don't know if this is what you want, but anyway... Just like Navicat and SQLyog over internet on a web browser. You can make accounts, give them privileges and execute query's in it and more.
