If you're trying to attach the precompiled version of CheatEngine to the game, it will definitely crash. Build it from source following any of the dozens of guides available online, and modify it to remove all mention of "CheatEngine". Use DBVM debugger after building.

Even still, it will occasionally crash, although far less often. Usually only during debugging ("Use DBVM to find what accesses this address"), instead of just attaching to the process or running the tool in general.

And for future reference, please try and use the search feature. I'm relatively certain this question has been asked before (several times).
