Blizzard legally targeting freelance coders
See this TorrentFreak article. Blizzard again going after Honorbuddy in USA by suing our very own Apoc. What do you all think of this? I find it very peculiar that they target an individual instead of a company. What is also very interesting is that Bossland states that Apoc is not employed by them, and at best a freelancer.
Seems like a low blow.

They have targeted individuals in the past several times. On four or five occasions in diablo II alone.

Really? I was unaware. I imagine things weren't as commercialized as they were with the Honorbuddy products though?

I believe so. D2jsp made millions of dollars. Even today, they are a very profitable trading web-site as a result of their massive popularity at that time.

Meh. Apoc and HonorBuddy will be fine. If not, another will take its place...

They cant detect them so they decide to sue them. The ultimate sign of defeat! HB's warden detector is second to none. I applaud those fellows over there and support them

This isn't necessarily true. I'm sure Blizzard could detect Honorbuddy in various ways without tripping any anti-detection. It seems more likely that Blizzard would rather remove the software so that no one can bot, rather than banning half their user base. It actually makes a lot of sense on Blizzard's behalf.

I agree, after the last HB banwave and their response of "Not sure how we were detected, not sure what we can do, GOOD LUCK FOLKS" I wouldn't be surprised if Blizz were gearing up for another wave once the temp bans are up.

Exactly this. Soon as I read the part where they dont know how they were detected I was done with HB. Dont get me wrong, theres nothing like it out there that does all of this and have been around for a very long time. But I think its time is up. Those who keep saying " LIAR, HB CANT BE DETECTED, YOU'RE JUST PARANOID AND KNOW NOTHING", oh yea? Say that to the thousands upon thousands who were banned for 6 months.

I didn't realise the bans expired today, how ironic.
TBH the buddy bots have gone downhill so much in the last year, they seem hell bent on all of their nav stuff being done on their servers to stop these cracked versions, and every time they move another product to it they realise they didn't have enough capacity, leaving everyone with a useless bot for a week.
Not to mention their obvious failings covering too many games and giving little support, they think they can just release an API and have their community do everything. While it works for WoW and D3, the others just feel incomplete.

Dang. My thoughts go out to Apoc! Good luck dude

I would start a collection to help Apoc with the fees, but Blizzard would find a way to sue everyone supporting him
