    How to generate Casc FileList?

    Hello ownedcore

Its been a while since I have posted here, but I now have a question.

I have been researching the Content Addressable Storage Container, and I have successfully managed to extract some files using the what I have learnt from that page/code. However I am at a loss when it comes to the file list.

As I understand it Heroes of the Storm, has this readily available for us however it does not exist in Warlords of Draenor does not. I have seen a post from TOM_RUS where he stated something like 'Bruteforce or hack blizzard'. Obviously hacking blizzards server is beyond me, so how exactly would I bruteforce this?

Alternatively, Has anyone got a Casc FileList as complete as possible they can share publicly? I'm confident that the one here Casc Storage - Main page is missing some files. It is definitely missing 'World\Expansion05\Doodads\Zangarmarsh\Doodads\6ZG_Mushroom_Gen_B02.m2 as I am working on updating my Navigation Mesh builder and Draenor_15_22 references this doodad, which I don't have.

    Thanks

Yes, this is what I am talking about. My personal list has 32 more files. I can generate some mesh too!

I am still missing loads though

I'm not familiar with the new format, but the problem with the old one (if the filelist is not included) was that the filenames were stored as checksums of the file's contents. Therefore, some filenames were 'brute forced' by methods specific to the checksum that was used (I believe it was md5). My (admittedly ignorant) guess would be that the same applies here.

Pretty sure it's all about the brute force, if you want an entirely complete listfile.

It's worth adding that a good place to start would be using a listfile from the last published MPQ.

TOM_RUS has provided a almost complete list on another thread. Missing 6k~ files.

Okay. I guess I misunderstood. I thought you were asking how to brute force.
