Send text to ingame chat

Hi,

I want to send an infomessage(AddMessage) to the chat window in the game. How can this be best done?
Should I get the window ID and send key by key? Or is there an alternative way you guys would advise to post an ingame message?

You, actually, can do it with only mem read/write. My idea is to detour some function and execute code cave that calls SendChatMessage with some string at given address and only if some flag is set. If you are interested in this solution (and no one suggests anything less dirty), I can help you.

I assume you mean API MessageFrame AddMessage - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft and not API SendChatMessage - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

Either way, the best solution would be to find a way to execute LUA scripts. (that topic has been talked to death on this forum, so use the search function)
