Hooking out rendering code to run many instances at once

Just curious if anyone in this community has experimented with hooking out the rendering code so as to run multiple instances of the client on a single computer without consuming so many resources. Also, if anyone has come up with any other ways of doing this (aside from writing a replacement client).

ISXWoW used to have functionality to do this. The source code should still be floating around.

I know this isn't much but send this function into an instant return before you 'enter world' 0x4CC970. This is for 4.2.2 however, I don't know if you wanted something for 1.12 cause you didn't specify =/

Nothing will render, just the interface. Did a few runs with it looks to be saving roughly 350mb vm and about 10% cpu usage. I know it's not much but it's something ;p

While I am indeed working on 1.12, I'm not aware of anyone else who is, so I left it open. At this point I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me whether the notion is realistic to run 20 or even 40 instances of the client.

Have you considered going client-less, can you for instance make Benderbot compatible with vanilla?

I barely have the motivation to do this. Reinventing about a thousand wheels to do what you suggest is waaaay beyond my level of interest. Although it seems like, CPU wise, disabling rendering is sufficient. While disabled, CPU usage went from around 11% on my system to a steady 0%.

Edit: Damn. I spoke too soon. While this was true at the login screen, while in game the CPU usage seems unaffected.
