[MPQ] How do I find the map image?

I've found a decent amount of threads on converting the .blp files to other image formats (like .png), but I haven't been able to find where they are stored w/in the MPQ files.

Does anyone know? I've search world.MPQ in /world/maps/<zone name>/ but there are no .blp files (I believe this is where they used to be).

    Any ideas?

Just open all of them once, look, if there are BLPs, if yes, success, if no, try the next.

Found a bunch of them in the art.MPQ, but there are literally 100s in some of the continent folders, should it just be one .blp per continent?

    Thanks!

What image exactly are you looking for? Minimaps? Worldmaps? Difference. Minimaps are one per ADT, Worldmaps 3*4 per are given in the DBCs.

Worldmaps, that is. locale MPQs you go there. Interface/WorldMap/*.BLP. 4*3 per are given, as said. Defined in WorldMap*.DBC.

Take the alpha map into account as the actual resulting assembled image is smaller than the 4*3 images themselves. Positions of the corners can be found in the DBCs btw.

Yes I'm reviving an old thread, but does anyone know where to get these from MoP? I found 90 of them by loading the individual expansion files and looking in world/Minimaps but I feel like there are more I'm missing (like PvP maps, etc...)

Do you open it just like this? When I do merged it shows very little.

[MPQ] How do I find the map image?-capture-png

Edit: Got them, you just can't do merged mode

A software called WowCatographe have this functionality, when the soft is launched for the first time it scan some MPQ and generate a big map with all minimap pictures. Try to download it and see which MPQ are used.
