[Mac] Ida Pro - Auto analysis never completes - solution?

So I hope this is an appropriate place to ask, as most of you use IDA for reversing, please delete if otherwise.

But basically I'm trying to reverse the latest PTR client on mac, and the auto analysis never finishes. Which of course is a problem as I'd like to use turbodiff (patch2diff fails since 4.x) but am unable to since the autoanalysis never completes.

Does anyone know how to fix this? As I long at the bar at the top, 99% of functions have been found, the bottom orange pointer just jumps all over the place.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm using patched patchdiff2 that works with 4.x. Also better try build 4.1.0.13860 (should be released tonight).

Can you say more? Or do you mean you just compiled from patchdiff2 - Binary diffing plugin for IDA - Google Project Hosting ?

Can you post the file? It requires registration and it asks a bunch of confusing questions

Analysis for it just takes very very long. I also thought it entered an infinite loop but it actually finished after about 2 hours.

TOM_RUS's version of patchdiff2 works well for me.

If we are on the topic of binary differs, I wonder why turbodiff doesn't work for me. Shows Access violation trying to read address NULL. I've tried with IDA 5.5 on 2 IDBs in x64 and x86.

Hrm does the same as all the other versions i've tried,
makes ida stop responding right away.
Maybe it doesn't support IDA 6.1

Yeah, IDA 6.1 is the likely reason. Maybe someone can try to build it with new IDA SDK.

Turbodiff fails on this binary for me, not sure why.

Anyone know how to capture the names of the dwords as well? There are SO SO many in this release, would love to get to capture them to move for each version?

I'm pretty sure Greyman has had a diffing tool he wrote (IDA plugin) run for 2 days straight before, rofl.

Once I can actually login to the PTR (anyone else having issues) and inject my "lua dumper" tool, then I'll rename the lua functions + upload the .idb file somewhere

So annoyed I can't login to the PTR
