is it possible to get the world states from the client? if so, how would you do this? if not how else do you do it (sniffing?)?

I can't explain without a more specific question. Blanket questions are against the rules.

ok lets say ive attatched a exe to the wow.exe process, and im on the battleground strand of the ancients, how am i supposed to get the world state id for lets say a gate or tower?

You could use an EndScene hook and use WoW's Lua API. I think it is GetMapLandmarkInfo() but double check that. Good luck.
